SOKA-BAU
SOKA-BAU is the German Vacation Building Office, which together form the so-called ZVK (German: Die Zusatzversorgungskasse des Baugewerbes), ie Cash for supplies to the construction industry and the so-called ULAK (German: die Urlaubs- und Lohnausgleichskasse der Bauwirtschaft), ie a cash desk that balances the terms of remuneration and leave in the construction economy. The main task of SOKA-BAU is to finance employee claims for leave. It is important for the construction industry because it carries out the so-called leave proceedings which apply to German employers as well as foreign employers who post employees to work in Germany.
Every entrepreneur operating in the construction industry in Germany should submit an application to SOKA-BAU and complete applications for a new employee. From the beginning of work, he is obliged to pay a monthly contribution. SOKA-BAU records the amounts transferred in this way and calculates the leave claim for the employee based on the applications.
If the employer delays the payment of monthly contributions, SOKA-BAU will charge interest for a delay of 5% of the increased premium rate. It should be remembered that late payment of premiums is an offense, it can be fined up to an amount of up to € 500,000.00
The contribution for holiday pay varies with each passing year. From January 2015. it amounts to 15.10% and is calculated on the gross remuneration of the employee.
